Day Trip: Tarangire National Park

06:30 AM – Pick-Up from Arusha / Hotel
Your guide will meet you at your hotel early in the morning. After a quick briefing, you’ll begin the 2-hour drive southwest to Tarangire National Park. Along the way, enjoy views of rural Tanzania and the Great Rift Valley escarpment.

09:00 AM – Enter Tarangire National Park
Arrive at the park gate and start your game drive. Your expert guide will take you through diverse terrain, from open savannahs to dense woodland and swamps all home to abundant wildlife.

Morning Game Drive
Look out for elephants gathering near the Tarangire River, prides of lions lounging in the shade, and giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, and antelope grazing across the plains. Tarangire is also one of the few parks where you might spot rare species like the fringe-eared oryx and gerenuk.

12:30 PM – Picnic Lunch in the Park
Enjoy a packed lunch at a designated picnic site with stunning views. Relax and soak in the peaceful surroundings.

01:30 PM – Afternoon Game Drive & Birdwatching
The afternoon offers more wildlife sightings, plus a chance to see some of the 500+ bird species that call Tarangire home — from vibrant lilac-breasted rollers to large groups of hornbills and secretary birds.

03:30 PM – Begin Return to Arusha
After a final drive through the park, you’ll exit and begin the journey back to Arusha.

06:00 PM – Drop-off at Hotel
Arrive back in Arusha in the early evening with unforgettable memories and photos from your safari day.
