05:00 AM – Pick-Up from Arusha / Hotel
Start early with a pre-dawn departure from your hotel. The drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area takes about 3.5–4 hours, passing through scenic highlands and traditional villages.
08:30 AM – Arrive at Ngorongoro Gate
Enter the conservation area and enjoy a short briefing. You'll begin your descent into the Crater — about 600 meters down into an ancient volcanic bowl teeming with wildlife.
09:00 AM – Crater Game Drive
Spend the morning exploring the Crater floor on a guided game drive. Ngorongoro is one of the few places where you can see the “Big Five” (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard) in a single day. Keep your camera ready for hippos wallowing in lakes, hyenas patrolling the plains, and vast herds of wildebeest and zebra.
12:30 PM – Picnic Lunch at Ngoitoktok Springs
Enjoy a packed lunch in a scenic picnic site inside the Crater, surrounded by stunning views and the sounds of nature.
01:30 PM – Afternoon Game Drive
Continue your wildlife search in different parts of the Crater, including Lerai Forest and Lake Magadi, famous for flamingos and birdlife. Your guide will tailor the route based on recent sightings and your interests.
03:30 PM – Ascend from Crater & Drive Back to Arusha
Begin the drive back with a final view over the rim of the Crater. Return to Arusha by early evening.
07:00 PM – Drop-off at Hotel
You’ll arrive back in Arusha with great photos, fresh memories, and a story to tell.
